Garmin vívofit Fitness Band

The Garmin vívofit is easy to use and comfortable to wear. Use it to track activity, monitor sleep, and work towards specific health goals.

The Garmin vívofit is an unobtrusive, straightforward fitness tracker that can help you work towards concrete health goals. Though not particularly stylish, the band is comfortable and lightweight, allowing you to wear it 24/7 to monitor your activity. Because its battery life lasts much longer than most fitness trackers and smartwatches, you won’t have to worry about recharging the vívofit, and can keep it on day and night to take advantage of both its activity and sleep tracking capabilities.

When paired with Garmin Connect, the device tracks more than just movement, allowing you to set and work towards a variety of health goals. The vívofit is easy to set up and sync with your phone or computer, and Garmin Connect provides a variety of tools to help you improve your health.

Design

The vívofit consists of a simple silicone band, with a display of about two centimeters by one centimeter in the middle. The design is slim and sleek, though it does not try to look like anything other than a fitness tracker.

There are multiple colors available, and each vívofit comes with a large and small band option. However, there is not much difference in size between these two options, so if you have a very small or very thick wrist, you may have trouble getting a good fit.

The display of the vívofit is always on. The default screen shows your steps and red “move bar,” which lets you know when you have been inactive for too long. You can cycle through the different screens with the press of the device’s single button. This button can feel a little sticky or difficult to press, but this does help ensure that you don’t accidentally activate sleep mode or another function. The display is sharp and easy to read and, while not lighted, has enough contrast to be visible in all but the lowest light.

Comfort and wearability

The silicone band of the Garmin vívofit is comfortable and easy to forget about when you have it on. Though the batteries make it slightly heavier than similarly-shaped fitness trackers, it is much lighter than a smartwatch and comfortable enough to sleep in. It is also water resistant, allowing you to shower, sweat, or get caught in the rain without worry.

The band clasps with two pins, which lock tightly and securely. The vívofit stays put through very vigorous movement, and if you choose the correct size band for your wrist it will not slide or rotate uncomfortably while your exercise.
