How to get rid of acid reflux
You can start by losing weight if you are obese, quitting smoking, waiting at least 2 to 3 hours after you eat before lying down, and raising your head between 4 and 6 inches when you sleep. Your doctor may suggest you take over-the-counter or prescription antacids, H2 blockers (which decreases the production of stomach acid), or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs, which block acid production in your stomach).
