What foods have gluten?

Wheat and varieties such as wheatberries, durum, semolina and spelt, rye, barley, malt, and brewer’s yeast

Gluten can show up unexpectedly, particularly in processed foods. For example, French fries can come into contact with wheat flour in batter, and potato chip seasoning may contain malt vinegar. Processed lunch meats and candy may contain flour. Soups can be thickened with flour or contain barley. Cheesecake may contain flour. Ordinary soy sauce contains wheat.
