TomTom Spark 3

TomTom has been in the GPS tracking business for years, making its products precise, and TomTom's Spark 3 comes in a variety of models.

Overview

TomTom isn’t new to GPS tracking. I used a TomTom car tracking GPS device several years ago and heavily relied on it for getting me to my destinations and for showing me the exact route and arrival time. The TomTom Spark 3, a GPS fitness watch, maps out routes and can be used for walking, running, cycling, swimming, and gym workouts.

The TomTom Spark 3’s different options look the same, but differ in their offerings. I purchased the least expensive one, a GPS watch and fitness tracker. If you want the basics, at $129.99, it’s a good value.

The TomTom Spark 3 is also available as a GPS watch with extra storage for apps and music. At $169.99, it comes with headphones. The $189.99 version includes GPS tracking, a watch face, and an optical heart-rate monitor. The top-of-the-line model includes GPS, music storage, and heart-rate monitoring, retailing for $249.99. These prices vary; you’ll have to shop around for the best price.

My needs for a fitness tracker are simple. I wanted something to accurately track my steps, formulate my route, and let me know the time. When I take my walks, I often leave my cell phone at home.

The TomTom Spark 3 works with Android and iOS, and you can track your progress on your desktop computer. It measures time, distance, speed, your pace, calories burned, and sleep.
