Is pain in left side a sign of kidney infection?

Pain in your left side could indicate an infection in your kidneys or another area of your urinary tract. Depending on your other symptoms, it could also be more serious kidney or bladder problems, especially if the pain is severe, you have a compromised immune system, or you have a history of cancer.

Pain in the left side of your abdomen can also be caused by a damaged, ruptured, or enlarged spleen. If there is a problem with your spleen, you may also notice bulging in your left side, dizziness, and a rapid heart rate.
